Additional InformationOur e-ILS course is a flexible way of learning skills in Immediate Life Support, combining a half a day of e-learning with half a day of face-to-face learning. An e-ILS course provides a variety of skills, from managing a deteriorating patient, identifying causes and treating cardiac arrest, to improving abilities as both a team member and leader. It’s the ideal training tool for appropriate candidates who may have to act as the first responder in an emergency, giving them the skills to treat patients in cardiac arrest before a supporting team arrives. The course is suitable for the professions shown below at Annex I. Before the course, you will be registered on the Resus Council Learning Management System (LMS). Here, you can access pre-course course modules that will prepare you for your face-to-face session, followed by a pre-course multiple choice question (MCQ) paper. You will receive your course manual at least two weeks before the course. Candidates are expected to read the manual in preparation for the course. Candidates are free to complete the e-learning in their own time before the face-to-face session. The face-to-face session focusses on skill stations and cardiac arrest simulations (CASTeach). Assessment is continuous throughout the course and is guided by the assessment forms provided for each core skill. Successful Candidates receive a Resuscitation Council UK ILS provider certificate, which is valid for one year.
